Pacific exporters seeking to expand into the Australian
market will have the opportunity to gain practical guidance
on Australia’s biosecurity and import requirements during
a free webinar hosted by Pacific Trade Invest Australia in
partnership with the Australian Government’s Department of
Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) on Wednesday, 29
July 2026.
The webinar, Export to Australia:
Biosecurity and Market Access Essentials for Pacific
Exporters, will provide exporters with practical
information on Australia’s biosecurity system and the
steps required to ensure agricultural products meet import
requirements before they are shipped to Australia.
The
session will explain Australia’s import processes,
demonstrate how exporters can use the Australian
Government’s Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system
to identify import requirements, and outline the most common
reasons consignments are delayed or rejected at the border.
Participants will also learn about the support available
through PTI Australia, DAFF and the Pacific Biosecurity
Partnership.
The webinar is designed for exporters,
agribusinesses, producer organisations, customs brokers,
freight forwarders and trade support agencies across the
Pacific involved in exporting agricultural products to
Australia.
PTI Australia Trade Commissioner Tim Martin
says, “This webinar brings Pacific exporters together with
the experts who administer Australia’s biosecurity system.
It’s an opportunity to ask questions, understand the
process and gain practical insights that can help businesses
access the Australian market with greater
confidence.”

PTI Australia has brought together
technical experts from DAFF to help Pacific businesses
better understand Australia’s regulatory requirements,
providing authoritative guidance that can help exporters
avoid unnecessary costs and delays, and better navigate
access to the one of the region’s most important export
markets.
“At PTI Australia, our role is to make
exporting easier by connecting Pacific businesses with the
right information, networks and opportunities. Working
alongside DAFF on this webinar is another example of that
commitment to helping Pacific exporters succeed,” Martin
adds.
Australia remains a key destination for many
Pacific agricultural exports. A clear understanding of
biosecurity requirements is essential for exporters looking
to expand their market opportunities while ensuring
compliance with Australia’s strict import
standards.
The webinar will be held online via Zoom
from 10.00 am AEST. Participation is free, but registration
is necessary.
