New Zealand Is Being Taken For A Ride

Canada, like New Zealand, is a country that welcomes
immigrants from other countries.

Compared to New
Zealand, Canada has had a higher rate of overseas
immigration in recent years. The social costs are high:
strictly rationed healthcare (the Canadian public health
system is the worst in the Anglosphere); very high property
prices (making property unaffordable to many Canadians); a
high penetration of organised crime from overseas;
immigration fraud on an industrial scale; and the growing
influence of overseas immigrants on national and local
politics.

15 Million Migrants

Recently, the
Indian High Commissioner to Canada has stated that Canada
will need 15 million new immigrant workers in the next 10
years. In public statements, the Prime Minister of Canada
appears to agree with him.

The Scale of Immigration
Fraud

In a police operation in Canada, a small Indian
gang were found in possession of 1.1 million forged
immigration documents.

As long ago as 2017, Canadian
government immigration officials in India were instructed to
treat fraud as anticipated, rather than exceptional. This
instruction was hidden from the public (while visas
continued to be issued). Immigration fraud is known to be
particularly rife in the Canadian trucking industry and
student visa programmes.

It would be very naive to
assume that this scale of fraud is not happening in New
Zealand.

Fraudulent Drivers Licences

In
November 2025, the New Zealand Transport Authority revoked
440 commercial driver licences (people converting overseas
licences to NZ licences) after a single audit. We know
therefore, that fraud of this kind is happening at scale in
New Zealand. This is consistent with observation of reckless
driving and disregard for safety by commercial drivers from
overseas.

There are at least 6 easy ways to obtain a
fraudulent overseas licence (which can be obtained for
example from websites in China).

Careless driving by
overseas commercial drivers with fraudulent driving licences
is a major public safety problem in Canada and the
USA.

Fraud Within Immigration Departments

In
other countries (for example the USA and Canada), government
immigration departments have been known to be penetrated by
organised criminals, who use their positions to sell visas
to their mates.

It would be very naive to assume that
this cannot happen in New Zealand

Why This
Matters

Elect the Conservatives to Parliament, and we
will ensure that:

– Any overseas immigrant found to
have used fraudulent documents in their immigration process
shall be deported (as obviously not being of good
character).

– Work and student visa applications from
India (and no doubt from a number of other countries) shall
be assumed to be fraudulent unless clearly proven
otherwise.

– Employers found to have staff who have
defrauded the immigration process shall be fined (and, if
repeated say 3 times, shall lose their right to sponsor
overseas employees).

– Anyone working on visas in our
Immigration Department must be a New Zealand
citizen.

– Audits of work and study visa applications
should be strengthened. Staff working on these visas (and
their decisions) should also be audited regularly.

–
Overseas commercial driver licences should no longer be
accepted. Overseas applicants for commercial transport jobs
should sit the appropriate exam and test in New Zealand. If
they fail twice, they should be deported at the sponsoring
employer’s expense. This programme should be applied
retroactively.

Vote Conservative, and we will ensure
that we do not go down the same path as Canada.

We
Are Full Up!

New Zealand has a limited number of
hospital beds, GPs, other medical professionals, houses,
school places, etc.. It is greatly to the disadvantage of
New Zealanders to allow net immigration which exceeds growth
in these social goods.

Vote Conservative, and we will
ensure that net immigration is zero (until such time as we
can meaningfully grow the above social
goods).
